History

Low Moor was a hamlet prior to 1790. It featured a couple of cottages which were housed in a few handloom weavers who sold their produce in places, including the Halifax Piece Hall. The village changed around 1790 due to the establishment of the Low Moor Ironworks as well as its subsequent growth. Another change occurred around the 1960s and 1970s when the entire area was redeveloped.

Low Moor Ironworks – was a wrought iron foundry that was established in 1791. High-quality iron ore and low-sulphur coal are found in the area and the works was built to exploit that. Wrought iron products were made in the works from 1801 until 1857 and were exported around the world. It became one of the largest ironworks in Yorkshire but it caused the surrounding countryside to be littered with waste and polluted with smoke.

National Media Museum – formerly called the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television, this museum features seven floors of galleries that have permanent exhibitions that focus on photography, television, animation, video gaming, the Internet and the scientific principles behind light and colour.  

Shibden Hall – a Grade II* listed historic house located in a public park in Shibden, West Yorkshire. The hall is open to the public and features a variety of restored workshops including a brewery, a stable, a basket-weaving shop and a tannery.

Bradford Cathedral – also called the Cathedral Church of St Peter, the church is situated in the heart of Bradford in West Yorkshire. It's one of the oldest buildings in the city but also features some 20th century features.
