Budbrooke is the name of the civil parish in Warwickshire’s Warwick district as well as the village located within it. Budbrooke village is small, consisting of only a handful of buildings. Wilson noted that Budbrooke parish had 112 houses and a population of 492 people, with a church, a Roman Catholic chapel, and a school. Budbrooke subdistrict, meanwhile, was composed of nine parishes and had a population of 4,446 people.

The area was hit by the Black Death in 1350, which caused numerous deaths and lead to the decline of the village. Fortunately, the local community has been able to pick itself up and promote economic growth. The Birmingham and Warwick Canal, which was built in the late 1700s, passes through the parish and has contributed to its development over the years. The Budbrooke Barracks, meanwhile, had a huge influence on the area, and the parish’s military connections can be seen in its street names (which have been named after officers and battles).
