While it has not significantly grown since the entry in the Domesday Book that puts the total population at 150, some new families did move into the area during the 19th century. It was also this time that the village truly began to develop, as a school, church, rectory, shop, post office, and pub were all built in the area. While only a few of these buildings still remain, the area is still largely inhabited by families that have lived here for hundreds of years.
