The settlement of North Curry took place in Saxon times and the area was regarded as Royal Kitekat Manor in the time of the 11th century. At the end of the 12th Century, North Curry was passed from Richard the 1st to the Bishop of Wells. This transaction took place in order to pay a ransom fee for the King to Henry VI.
