It was in 1125 that Loddington was permitted to Laude Priory by the Basset’s. This was in confirmation with original terms of endowment priory. Loddington Hall was one of the very first popular buildings within Loddington and was known as a type of manor house in 1475. This house stayed in the same family for generations until it was purchased by the Morris family. However, the manor house was converted into a hunting lodge in the mid 1900’s and was then sold to the Allerton family. This residence is still existing in Loddington and is currently used as a family home. It is one of the oldest landmarks in this small village.
