Plockton is a small village of under 400 people, framed by the picturesque Highland cliffs. This beautiful town is surrounded by green pastures and forests, and remains unspoiled by industry today. In the 19th century, it thrived on fishing after the Skye and Dingwall railway line was built through the town. The railway still runs today with the Lyle of Lochalsh passenger line. Many other activities keep the residents occupied. There are plenty of paths and trails to take in the spectacular Highland views. Trails vary from easy walking trails to steep hilly challenges for the experienced hiker. There is also a golf course located in town.

Duncraig Castle was built in the 19th century, and has experienced notoriety due to being financed by the opium trade. It was built in 1886 in Scottish Baronial style. It went on to become a wartime hospital, college, and lodgings for film crews. The Dobson family painstakingly restored many of the rooms, before selling to the Hazeldine family in 2009. The castle is currently undergoing renovations, but promises to reopen to visitors in spring 2016. Luxury accommodations will be provided to tourists, with excellent catering, and tours of the castle. It will be the perfect location to host a wedding.
