Located at the western end of Glenurquhart in Inverness-shire, Corrimony is 13 kilometres west of Drumnadrochit and 32 kilometres west of Inverness. Famous for Mony's Stone and the chambered cairn that is part of the Clava group of cairns, Corrimony is a lovely holiday destination for those who enjoy simple life. To the south is an upland area owned by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Covering 1531 hectares, the site is run as Corrimony nature reserve. The RPSB acquired the site in 1997 and are working on restoring the Caledonian Forest for the benefit of Black Grouse.

Corrimony Chambered Cairn – with a passage still intact, Corrimony is considered as an unusual cairn, but nonetheless a very impressive Clava-style cairn. And just like other Clave-style cairns, Corrimony has a large circular chamber that has a passageway pointing towards the position of the moonset at the southern minor standstill of the moon. A circle of standing stones surround the cairn.

Since the stones look to be disturbed, there's no telling exactly how many were there originally. As of now, there are 12 stones standing and one of those on the north-west portion of the circle has a number of cup marks on the external face.

A large slab heavily decorated with cup marks lies on the body of the cairn. It is believed that this formed a capstone to the central chamber during the time the cairn was still intact. However, there is a theory that it could have been another stone that stood in the circle.

Excavated in 1952, the Corrimony cairn features traces of a crouched burial in the intact floor of the cairn.
