River Bank – serves as shelter and feeding spots for nesting and migrating birds. The river bank is also where you’ll find lots of flowers in Hackney Marshes including bluebells, knapweed, meadow cranesbill, teasel and white campion.

Getting to Hackney Marshes

Although the area is not well served by transport, a lot of buses make trips to the area. Here’s how to get to the area:

By car or foot: enter through Homerton Road (B112) which has a car park and bicycle stands.

By bicycle: take the Lee Navigation Towpath which passes by the marshes.

By rail: the nearest stations are Homerton Station and Hackney Wick Station on the London Undergrond and is about a 20-minute walk from the centre.

By bus: routes 236, 276, 308, W15 and N26 run drop by the Hackney Marshes Centre.
