Flower Delivery to Canary Wharf with Clare Florist

Being a major business district in Tower Hamlets, London, you'd think that you couldn't find a place or two to have fun in Canary Wharf. Well, that is absolutely wrong. Yes, the place may be filled with skyscrapers and people in suits, but there are places where you can spend a good time too.

The Canary Wharf is more than just an office and retail space. There are dining options and other attractions too. You can take a date to any of the restaurants here and enjoy talking and admiring skyscrapers. Of course, make the meal more romantic when you send flowers to Canary Wharf.

HISTORY

Located on the West India Docks on the Isle of Dogs, Canary Wharf was one of the busiest docks in the world beginning in 1802. However, the port industry began to decline during the 1960s which ultimately led to all docks being closed in 1981.

The name Canary Wharf is taken from the No. 32 berth of the West Wood Quay of the Import Dock, which was built in 1936 for Fruit Lines Ltd and at their request, the quay and warehouse was named Canary Wharf.

Today's Canary Wharf came about when Michael von Clemm, former chairman of Credit Suisse First Boston, suggested that the Canary Wharf be converted into a back office.

Now, the Canary Wharf is one of the two main financial centres in London. It also boasts of being the place to find many of the tallest buildings in the UK, one of which is One Canada Square.

Canary Wharf is home to the European headquarters of major companies from a variety of industries – banking, professional services, media organisations, etc. Names such as Barclays, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Infosys, HSBC, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley and Thomson Reuters have offices here.

Apart from business offices, there are also bars and restaurants in the area. If you ever wanted to take a date here, there are lots of dining options available. You can also make the meal more romantic by presenting your date with some Canary Wharf flowers that you bought.

CANARY WHARF ATTRACTIONS

The O2 Walkway – Here's where you can find the best views of London. From the summit, you can see Greenwich, Elizabeth Olympic Park and Canary Wharf.

Canary Wharf shopping centre – More than just shopping is offered here. Sure, there are high street names such as Boots and Karen Millen, but there are also bars and restaurants. Aside from that, there's also an annual programme of dance, film, music, fashion shows and cultural events.

Mudchute Farm – Canary Wharf may be mostly skyscrapers, but there is still a little countryside space. Here, you can take children to see different farmyard animals, such as chickens, donkeys, goats and a llama!

Emirates Sky Train – Enjoy famous London landmarks – Thames Barrier and Royal Docks – in a cabin while listening to an audio guide telling you about the history and stories of East London.

London Docklands Museum – See exhibits that highlight the changes that the Canary Wharf has gone through. Here you will find arts, clothing and paintings. There are permanent displays of the Thames highway and the model of the Old London Bridge.

As you can see, Canary Wharf is more than just a business centre. There's room for leisure here as well. Should you want to take a date out here, make sure to buy some flowers in Canary Wharf to present to them before embarking on your romantic date.
