The history of Cheltenham is also well represented along with paintings that span four centuries, oriental collections of pottery and costume an archaeological ites from the Cotswolds.

Holst Birthplace Museum – where Gustav Holst, composer of The Planets, was born in 1874. This Regency terrace house is where visitors can learn more about Holst, as well as his family and friends.

Winchcombe Railway Museum – housed in a lovely Cotswold Country Garden, this museum features a unique collection of railway artefacts. The museum encourages visitors to operate the signals and ring the bells. It was first opened in 1968 and featured a collection that was put together by Tim Petchey and his fellow Trustees.
