Parkeston, a village in the county of Essex, is located in the eastern region of England. It is a port on the North Sea and sits on the south bank of the River Stour.

The village of Parkeston was partially on an island called “Ray Island” and the mud flats of the River Stour, but was only an island at high tide. It was originally called “Le Rey” during the Saxon period.
