Great Totham is a large village located in the Maldon district of Essex shire county. This region is located in the south eastern portion of England. This is a listed heritage building. It became a chapel in 1822 after Raven, a ploughman was overheard preaching to non-conformist workers. Services are held every Sunday, with healing services every Thursday.

The outskirts of Great Totham used to be a part of Tiptree Heath, which was a popular haunt for smugglers. They would hang out at a building called Spirits Hall. The original place of settlement was called Totham, and was located on the Mountains Road. This road wound around the highest spot in the region at 83 metres. It’s possible that the name Totham is derived from Saxon and means “look out” or “hill top dwelling”.
