Located in East Lothian, approximately 20 miles of Edinburgh in Scotland is the small village of Drem. It is bound in the south by Haddington, in the north east by North Berwick, in the north by Dirleton and in the northwest by Gullane.  It has a railway station which transits between Edinburgh and the North Berwick line and occasional offer service to Glasgow. The station is the last to be reached before the branching off of the track from the East Coast mainline.

During the Second World War, the former West Fenton Aerodrome was later rebuilt and known as the RAF Drem and in assisting the spit fire landing the Drem lighting System was also developed. Today some of the outbuildings now belong to the Fenton Barns retail and leisure and are used by local craftsmen, most especially furniture makers. A mile south of the village is the Chesters Hill Fort, an example of an Iron Age fort.

National Museum of Flight

Visit the National Museum of flight to enjoy a special aviation adventure at East Fortune airfield. Trace all of aviations history starting from the First World War up till today. There are interactive hands on galleries, where you can learn about how aircrafts fly and the skills you need to fly them. The main exhibits is a Concorde G-BOAA, which you can walk around, touch carefully and maybe look up the jet pipe or go in it as much as you want. The exhibits have been split into sections of military, private and commercial flight with a restoration shed. The museum has a fascinating gallery of aircraft that basically chronicles the story of modern day aviation. There is a shuttle bus for less mobile people who want to see the hangars. The staffs are friendly and very helpful and visiting is a good value for money.

The Wheels and Wings Show

This show which holds at the National Museum of Flight in September 2014, will feature a thrilling display from the white helmets motorcycle display team, there will be displays of classic and vintage vehicles and as well opportunity to test your mountain biking skills. You would also get to enjoy fun family activities as well as hear talks from transport experts and engineers. Tickets cost about £11/£9 for adults, £6 for children above 5 while admission is free for below 5s and £29 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children. There may be parking charges on the day.

Kite Festival

Another event holding at the renown National Museum of Flight is the Kite festival, a sport and leisure event specially for the kids in celebration of kites. It will be holding on the 13th and 14th of September 2014 and will be a weekend of flying inflatable kite creatures, amazing kite displays from kites all over the world. There would be Chinese dragon flights, teddy kites and even those of soft toys. An even to remember for the kids.
