The village of West Moors is a civil parish located in East Dorset, which is a local government district in Dorset, England. It is on the Poole-Bournemouth conurbation’s northern border that is next to two larger settlements; Verwood and Ferndown. According to a 2004 census, there are about 7,400 people residing in West Moors. This number increased to 7,561 in the 2011 census, which accounted for both the electoral ward and the parish.

    West Moors was a village that never really found local prominence until the late 19th century after the Salisbury and Dorset Junction railway line and the Southampton and Dorchester railway line were built there in conjunction with the West Moors Railway Station.
