The civil parish of Plymstock is located in the city of Plymouth. This city lies within Devon County, England and is one of the southern most cities in the entire country. Legend has it that a wealthy hunter named Childe became lost in the moorlands during a snow storm in the year 1630. After trying to seek protection inside the disembowelled remains of his horse, he eventually came to the conclusion that he was going to die. So he left a note on his body which stated that he would leave his property in Plymstock to the person who finds his dead body and buries it. Eventually, monks from Tavistock Abbey found the body and built a small tomb in his honour. Unfortunately, this tomb was almost destroyed in the year 1812 by someone who wanted to build his house with stones from the tomb. However, the tomb was partially rebuilt in 1890 and it still remains today.
