The village of Quarrington Hill is located in County Durham, England. It is within a short distance from the village of Kelloe, which is a civil parish to the south of Quarrington Hill. At one point, Quarrington Hill used to be part of Kelloe. But this all changed in the 19th century after Quarrington Hill merged together with the village of Cassop to form the Cassop-cum-Quarrington parish.

Many of the villages throughout Durham County used to depend on coal mining as their chief source of trade and employment. The Cassop Colliery was the location where most of the people from Durham had worked in the mines. He was supposedly the only person in the village to have a cart that could do this. The villagers of Quarrington Hill ended up sharing the church with the people of Cassop. Unfortunately, the church was demolished in the 1980s and it was never replaced with a new church. Instead, the land of the churchyard continues to be used for burials only. But to the generations of English families who have remained in Quarrington Hill, the churchyard has a great historical and holy significance in their lives.
