Scorrier is located about two miles north-east of the centre of Redruth, a town which together with Camborne form the largest urban area in Cornwall. The village is also three miles south-east of the coast at Porthtowan and is on the A30 road at the junction of the A3047 road leading west to Camborne, as well as the B3298 road south to Carharrack.

Scorrier House – located just south of the village. It was built in 1778 by John William with the fortune he earned from the tin mining industry. Noted plant collector William Lobb took over the gardens in the 19th century, and there he grew several rare plants.

Also located in Scorrier House is the Scorrier House Stud which specialises in thoroughbreds for flat racing. Among the prize-winning horses that have come from the Stud include Firebreak who won the 2004 Group One Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Mile at Sha Tin.

The Fox & Hounds – a pub located on the cycle trail in West Cornwall. It serves local ales which were brewed less than a mile from the pub. Aside from drinks, the pub serves home-cooked food as well.
