Luxulyan, a civil parish and village located in central Cornwall, UK is situated in an area of China clay quarries, six miles south of the outskirts of Bodmin Moor and about four miles on the northeastern part of St Austell granite batholith. There are also a number of small domes made of granite surrounding the parish. Cornish granite which is rare is known as Luxulyanite, which is also named after the village.

The Luxulyan Valley can also be found in the area and has been declared a World Heritage Site in 2006. This church is located in Churchtown, Luxulyan and is within the Deanery of St Austell and is part of the Diocese of Truro. Rebuilt in granite during the 15th century, the parish church used to be Norman. It was said to be dedicated to St Sulien in the 6th century but is now dedicated to Saints Julitta and Ciricius. Inside the church are the records of the Blackmoor Stannary while a tunnel-vault and battlements can be found at the south porch.

Luxulyan Valley

This lovely attraction located a few miles from Lostwithiel forms part of the West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site and part of the UNESCO Cornwall. The old tramways offer several paths that are free of traffic, making them perfect hiking trails and walking paths.
