Wistaton is a small town located in Cheshire county, with a population of around 8,222 people. It’s located in the northwest region of England and located about three miles from Crewe and Nantwich town centres. In the Domesday Survey of 1086, Wistaston was originally called Wistanestune, with its town of 25 to 30 people. The town had valuable woodlands full of deer and arable farmland. The “tune” within the name means “farmstead”. After the invasion by William the Conqueror, the value of the land decreased by about two thirds, due to damage to the surrounding countryside.

The town hosts several events throughout the year, which draw in residents from the surrounding counties. It’s a great time to socialize with neighbours and enjoy a bit of the outdoors. The Wistaston Memorial Hall is host to several meetings and events throughout the year. In June they hold the annual Village Fete. This popular event crowns a Rose Queen and a Wistonian of the year. This event is held at the St. Mary’s Church Rectory. There are vintage cars and a marching band to enjoy, as well as the opportunity to purchase treats and buy baked goods.

St. Mary’s Church Hall holds an annual flower and vegetable show. Residents have the chance to purchase local farm fresh produce, and buy seeds and plants for their own gardens. They also host a tea event.
