Flower Delivery to Aberdeenshire by Clare Florist

Aberdeenshire is one of those places in the world where you get the best of both worlds. That is, you can bask in the beauty of the mountains on one side and the breathtaking coast on another. It maybe famous for a lot of things, but it’s the scenery that will make a trip to this region unforgettable. The countryside alone that’s littered with Aberdeenshire flowers is enough to make you want to stay for good.

Moreover, it’s known to be a great place to live in, raise a family, work and visit, as shown by its impressive performance indicators that remained strong for years. In fact, residents are enjoying the best quality of life as what a recent survey showed.

But this wasn’t always the case.

In terms of anything historical, Aberdeenshire has plenty to show off, what with several archaeological sites found in the area. These include Cairn Lee, Catto Long Barrow, Kempstone Hill and Longman Hill, most of which belong to the Neolithic and Bronze Age.

2000-1800 BC – The Beaker Culture from the south arrived to settle in Aberdeenshire during the Bronze Age, when stone circles and cairns were a predominant feature.
1-100 AD – Between these times, it’s believed that the Taexali people settled along the coast.
800-900 AD – Aberdeenshire saw an influx of inhabitants during these times such as the Picts and Romans.

Evidence showed that during the medieval times, different people from different places have been crossing the Mounth through present day Aberdeenshire, from the Scottish Lowlands to the Highlands.

Scottish clans, such as the Clan Macbeth and Clan Canmore, are two of the larger clans that have been feuding for a long time. But it was in 1057 when Lumphanan, a village in Aberdeenshire, witnessed the fall of Macbeth of Scotland when he was defeated by Malcolm III of Scotland.

More wars followed afterwards, particularly between the new families that arrived during the Anglo-Norman penetration. Like most places in the world, Aberdeenshire’s history was marred with these clashes and rivalries that continued up to the 17th century. But things weren’t all that bad, because the 17th century also paved the way for increased wealth due to increased trading with the Germany, Low Countries and Poland.

Aberdeenshire Today

This council area of Scotland is set to protect the quality of life that its residents are enjoying. Protection of the environment where flowers in Aberdeenshire thrives is of utmost importance to the local. Suffice to say that every aspect essential to a good life is being promoted and nurtured in this place. Energy, fishing, agriculture, tourism and whiskey distilling are the major industries here.

Although much of this region features wide stretch of grass, with Aberdeenshire flowers interspersed here and there, it actually is home to several local features. There’s the Balmoral Castle, which is the Scottish Highland home of the British royal family, Cairness House, Corgarff Castle and other similar structures.

Then, there’s Cairngorms National Park, located north east of Scotland, which is home to an array of natural features including the Cairngorms mountain range. The park’s spectacular landscape features a variety of flowers in Aberdeenshire, flora and fauna.

What other features await visiting tourists?

Badenyon

The last farming inhabitant of this former clachan (village) was Jeanie Farquarson, who died sometime during the early part of the 70s. Today, it’s owned by the Blaxter family and is the location for the annual great Badenyon Boat Race.

Causey Mounth

This is an ancient road that linked between Stonehaven and Aberdeen, which was developed during 12th century AD. As it spans on many boggy areas, it was slightly elevated. Although it’s still passable today, certain parts are now reduced to just footpaths.

Loch of Strathbeg

Previously called Water of Strathbeg or Water of Rattray, the Loch of Strathbeg is a Special Protection Area, intended for wildlife conservation. Here, visitors can watch the birds and other animals that have made the area their home.

These are just some of the local attractions in Aberdeenshire. The region is also home to many places of interest and life’s conveniences, from convenience stores to florists. So anyone interested to send flowers to Aberdeen or any of its smaller towns, there are plenty of sources of great flowers.
