Cornhill is a small village in Scotland, located in the council area of Aberdeenshire. It’s located close to the town of Banff. In Scottish Gaelic, Cornhill is “Cnoc an Arbhair”. This town is located on the upper eastern side of Scotland. The village is small but does have a few businesses, including a post office. There is also the Ordiquill Primary school for children.

The Castle of Park, or Park House, is a big attraction located nearby. This castle was built in the 16th century. This is a large elegant pink-white coloured castle situated on forty acres of beautiful green fields, with many green trees, and bushes. The castle was built in the 16th century, and is close to the Banffshire Coast. It was owned by the Gordon-Duff family until the late 20th century. The new owners have restored the interior of the castle. It is now filled with pertinent antique furniture, and a collection of British Romantic art adorns its walls.

The Gardens of Park House were substantially landscaped in Victorian times. The gardens are beautifully maintained. Several waterfalls, ponds, an orchard, woodland walks, laburnum avenue, rhododendron tunnel, and a rose garden have been added since then.

Today, the Castle is open for visitors, and there are accommodations for travellers to book. The Castle is often used for weddings, and there is the Breakfast room where meals can be enjoyed.

The main church is the Cornhill Parish Church, and serves the region between Ordiquhill and Cornhill. It was originally built in the mid-19th century. It’s located at the Eastern edge of the village. Inside is a spiral staircase to the belfry where the bells are located. The church is situated on a small parcel of land, with a gravel parking lot. Due to its age, there is no graveyard located beside it.

The Highland Games are a bit part of Scottish heritage, and each year they are played in Cornhill. Other outdoor activities include the Knock Hill race, a fourteen kilometer race up Knock Hill, and back down again.

Like many regions in Scotland, there has been evidence of prehistoric man. In Cornhill, they have discovered a habitation near Cornhill. There is also the Longman Hill Barrow, a mound of earth and stones, placed during the Bronze Age. 

In 1907, J. Henry created the Kerrs Pink variety of potato, which was farmed on the land. In 2009, G. Morrison bred the world’s most expensive sheep, called the Deveronvale Perfection. One sheep sold for £231,000.
