Hard-working council employees in Lancashire have put in a blooming good effort this week, planting 25,000 flowers in just four days.
While some commenters have understandably suggested that there are other areas where the council could be focusing their efforts instead of putting up "a load of nice flowers", we think that it's at least worth a tip of the hat to the men and women on the ground, who have filled hanging baskets and roundabouts, parks and roadside flower beds with these wonderful displays. Excellent work, team :)
But what do our readers think? Does your local council make the effort when it comes to making your outdoor spaces beautiful? Would you like to see more evidence of green fingers in your local parks and flowerbeds?
