Scientists at Harvard have created a robo-bee. As bees around the world suffer from colony collapse disorder, flowers and crops are at risk.
Obviously the most important thing to do here is to research the cause of the real bees' plight, and to come up with a way to fix it, sharpish. But it's still amazing to see what scientists can accomplish -- even if they haven't QUITE figured out a way to make their bee "drones" fly without being attached to a copper wire.
