The RHS, that green-fingered bunch who give us the likes of the Chelsea Flower Show and the rather fabulous RHS Campaign for School Gardening, have announced the winners of their annual photographic competition - and they're absolutely stunning! As the competition organiser James Arnold said, 'We have been astounded by the photographs we have received this year, not only by the record number of entries but the extraordinary quality of the images which people have produced, it’s simply breathtaking.'
The winner is this top pic, by Josie Elias. It features a spreading olie tree around which a collection of gorgeous blooms (which we at Clare would dearly love to own!)
Lots of the other pictures impressed, too. Look at this stunning photo of a jewel-like purple beetle on a flower petal. And then, be amazed again: this picture was taken by Amber Rose Amos, in the under-11s category:
But our favourite of all has to be this photograph, which was commended for the 'wildlife in the garden' category, tkane by John Cocks. Lookit the mousey!
All photo credit goes to the RHS, the PA, and of course the images' respective photographers, Josie Alias, Amber Rose Amos and John Cocks.
